Yesterday was a great day. I plopped myself down on the couch at 11 & watched three full games, in their entirety, and the beer flowed like wine. Mrs Handsome called it the "Sunday of Darth" and went shopping.

Don't even know what to post in this thread anymore after the Pens lost. I guess I'll see how the current round ends up and decide who I'm going to cheer for! Anyone but the Flyers, Bruins, or Caps in that order

Kings went 3-1 against the Blues during the regular season. If they keep playing with the intensity and focus that they showed against Vancouver, they might just pull off another surprise.
Luongo was the star of which game? The one he lost 4-2, or the other one he lost 4-2?
I'll take the Kings to win it all. Then Richards can say thank you to Laviolette and Holmgren while Simmonds and Schen can say thanks for nothin'.

^ This. The NHL playoffs are ridiculous. 4 rounds, each a 7 game series. It becomes a war of attrition. Who ever is healthiest at the end wins.
My biggest beef with the salary cap is it severs the fan relationship with great role players. If you talk to Wings Fans you'll find there is almost as great a love for the McCarthy, Kocur, Draper, Helm types as the Federovs, Datsyuks, and Yzeremans. The problem is under the new cap, one of those players has a great playoff run and they immediatly become to expensive to keep.
Look at Bluffgyn in Chicago, or Gill in Pittsburg. In Detroit we had the luxery of building up an appreciation for those kind of players for years and developing young players with those kinds of skills in mind. Now those guys have become rent a players in the league under the cap. And they go from team to team.
Phoenix/FL? You've got to be kidding. I want to see teams with a fan base in the cup. Nashville may be the exception because they've built slowly and the right way. But when FL and Phoenix are losing, their arenas are empty even when the economies good.
It's a beef for you b/c now your team is in the same boat as a team like Edmonton has been in since salaries skyrocketed. Before the cap, the smaller market teams would lose those players anyway, cap or no cap.
But I'm with you on your view of a Florida-Phoenix final. that's horrible. I think Mike drinks too much sometimes.

Prior to the lockout I used to refer to the Red Wings as the Yankees of the NHL. Now there are actually a team that I like.
If I'm honest,....I'll be elated with a SC this year,...but if it doesn't happen,....I'm happy to have knocked out the Pens.
