Bryz hasn't had to make any big saves because of the support he's had from his defense. That said, Flyers have outplayed the Pens in D, O and goal tending.

I'll amend my comment to this is the way Flyers D needs to play. I'm sure getting out 3-0 has helped to alleviate pressure on Bryz.

We do need a better effort from him next series though,....that much is obvious.

Kudos to G for acknowledging Bryz. Admitting that there is pressure,....but that they were happy to see him tightening down. Now would be a good time for Bryz to get in a rhythm.

Gained respect for Sidney and the rest. They took it well and watching sid spend as much time as he did shaking hands with everyone showed alot of class. Bryz was great. He can be, but he needs to get more consistent.

Was glad to see both sides respectfully shake hands at the end of the game. As much as I hate Philly it was a hard fought series and Flyers deserved their win.
congrats to the flyers- took out a team that many(myself included) thought would win the cup. Now, lets see if the caps and Kings can follow suit....
Nice job Flyers. It may have been a relatively easy day for Bryzgalov, but I'm still glad to see him play well. The Flyers played defense the way I like to see it played. Even if the Flyers lose the next round, their young guys got some valuable experience already.

I thought they played their best in game five, but that was it. They seemed to play today like they were up in the game and series. I place some of that blame on Bylsma and his staff.

Pittsburg suffers from the same malady that every team in the NHL, a hard salary cap allows no mistakes. They lost key pieces like Gonchar, Talbot, and Gill. The only thing a GM can do these days is put 4-6 core pieces in place and look for different complimentery pieces each season. The problem is, with a hard and sometime shrinking cap maintaining the complimentary pieces for a two or three season run is impossible.
Look at the Teams already eliminated, San Jose, Detroit, Pittsburg, and the Bruins, Cannucks, and Black Hawks all look close to elimination. Welcome to parity. If things keep going the way they're headed, the last four cup champions, will have been eliminated in the first round. We will not see a dominating franchise until a new labor agreement. Under the current contract, it is impossible to keep good role players, and in a league with injuries common, your depth is playing half the season in the minors.

I'm actually OK with the parity. I like the fresh faces and teams. While I enjoyed the 2008 and 2009 SCF, many fans outside Detroit and Pittsburgh did a collective "UGH! This again?" in 2009.
A Phoenix/Florida SCF would be a fun one in my opinion.

Late to the party today, but solid, solid, SOLID game out of Philly today. What a way to close out the series. Hopefully this follows them into round 2.
