Ottawa sure doesn't look like an 8th seed. All I can think while watching them play is how I wish the Pens could have kept Gonchar. I miss that guy.

Craig Anderson outplays The King? I would have never guessed that. This is a really good series, with the low scoring games I am fond of.

Yet the refs didn't call Neil hitting Boyle in the head... PP's were also even in the game so I am not sure what you're referring to. Not to mention Rupp getting a bs charging call on a clean hit.

Nonetheless, Anderson dominated and didn't give anything up. Comes down to that. I think both teams played well and it could have easily been 1-0 the other way, like it was in Game 3.

Edit: Boyle is reported to be "concussed", and I don't really expect to see him the rest of this series. Hagelin's suspension will be over and he will likely be in for Game 6.

Refs didn't call Neil's hit because it was a good hit. They've been anaylizing it... 1/3 of a second after he released the puck... so it's not a late hit. He didn't come off his feet until after contact... And he has no record of bad hits... his last incident... in 2003... he was fined for $1000.

First period penalties were 3 - 0 against the Sens. That is hardly even. Seems like the Rangers were given a pretty damn good advantage in the first, but things didn't quite work out for them.

And Alfie is still not back... so don't even whine about losing a player. The Sens have won 3 without their Captain and top player. So don't even go there.

And I won't even mention all the other headhunting incidences against Spezza and Karlsson.

If the Rangers think they can win by taking out our top players., they are going to find themselves beat up.

Saint Louis reminds me a lot of Nashville except they do it with two goalies. I suspect that Nashville has a little better mix of veterans and young studs for a playoff run. The San Jose divers looked pretty mediocre all season, good riddance. :rolleyes:

I'm not really interested in arguing, but I'll just point out that those first three penalties were legitimate, with the possible exception of Spezza's, although he plainly hit our player in the face. You also had the only 3 PPs in the second, so in my book, yes, it was even.

I also don't recall complaining or whining about Boyle. It's a tough call as to if it was clean and Boyle had his head down from shooting, so it could go either way. Not happy about him potentially being hurt, but I'm not blaming anyone either.

The Rangers were never trying to take out your top players, and certainly not as a method of winning. We're a hard hitting team... don't forget you guys were the one's looking to even the hitting and checking back in Game 2. We chose not to bring up a guy like Scott because it would not have done any good. Hagelin's hit on Alfredsson was not with any malice and they've both recognized that.

Both teams are guilty of some "dirty" plays, but I would vouch for any of the guys currently on our roster that they are not out to get anyone and would never intentionally injure. Carkner, on the other hand... no excuse.

Wish I had seen the Caps game today, but my lovely band leader scheduled a rehearsal that perfectly overlapped the game. Sounds like it was another tough, close game, but I'm glad the Caps pulled it out. Hopefully they can gut out one more strong game at home tomorrow!

Have any of you noticed that, in the East right now, each of the teams that came into its respective series with fewer regular-season points is winning? I can't say the underdog is winning, because the #3-seed Panthers are beating the #6-seed Devils; what's significant about that is that the Devils actually had a better regular season, but the Panthers got the better seed by winning the Southeast. So right now, being the 'better team' (at least by regular season standards) isn't helping anyone in the East! Gotta love playoff hockey...

As a Caps fan you would have enjoyed it. As a Bruins fans of some 40 years, it pissed me off. It looked as if they didn't care for a good portion of the game. Then they banged home two quick ones and they responded for a while. I don't expect another Cup, but I do expect a full 60+ of effort that resembles a team that gives a crap.

We both have our view of the games. I think it's been a close tough series, with lots of good hits, and lots of good play, but interspersed with some cheap **** too. Too much of it. The refs didn't stop that from the first puck drop of the series, and top players are not playing because of it, and that isn't good for the fans. So players and refs both have to wear that.

The goaltending has been the key on both teams.

The Sens are rolling, and they're going to be going hard for the win in Ottawa. Lots of people didn't think they would even get close to making the playoffs, let alone gave them a chance when they did make it. The next game is going to be for the Ottawa fans. It's gonna suck to be the Rangers next game. :D

Sorry but we got hammered after tonights game(we lost). lol. My girlfriend hates when I air out my pads on the couch. Oh well, we need a new couch. I'm just trying to speed it up. lol. Didn't catch any games tonight. I'll watch nhl live in the morning. Night.

This is incorrect, they ar sherwoods. Huh. I thought they were louisvilles.

On another note, anyone think chara really has the fastest slap shot ever, or do you think he has a average with the composite sticks? I personally think pat lafountaine might have been the fastest, to do what he could with a wood stick was amazing.
