Raffi Torres suspended 25 games for hit on Marian Hossa - CBSSports

He deserves every minute of that suspension. That being said, 25 games is quite the number. That's almost a quarter of a season.

The NHL is definitely trying to make a statement with this one. After the ridiculous number of suspensions this Playoffs, they have to regain some sense of control, and major suspensions are really the only way.

Hmm, like I said, didn't get home until midnight last night, and unfortunately Mary made me look at the score before I watch (still haven't) the DVR. (went out with friends for the first time in AGES!!!)

Now that I'm caught up here at home today, with seeing the gifs and comments here, I think I'll go sit down and watch that game.

On a side note, while at dinner last night did see that the Wings lost and friends are Wings fans. So sad for them, NOT!

In this case, I admire Giroux for being so upset, yet not looking to pick a fight or cheap shot someone. He took out his anger in a relatively safe way by destroying a $50 stick instead of possibly ending someones career. He is no saint, but he showed some sort of restraint there. Probably better to skate off the ice and be done with it, but I think everyone on the ice, in the stands, and watching on TV was emotionally and physically spent after that game.

I think the less spent/tired team wins on Sunday.

NYR/OTT has probably been one of the lesser talked about series' in this thread, but I'm obviously invested in that series, so I feel compelled to express my concern.

Ottawa doesn't scare me because I know we can beat them. I am scared of us not being able to play a full 60 minutes and put them away. We also need production from our top line, which has been going through weird transitions because of Hagelin's absence. Torts has felt the need to switch players every shift to find a solid top line now and it isn't helping the situation.

There hasn't been one point in the series where Ottawa has led, either in the score or in the series lead. We need to put them away, and do it quick. Anderson has played exceptionally well, so we need to keep the pressure on him and control the pace of play. I'll have my fingers crossed with tonight's match so we can maintain home-ice and not put ourselves in a hole.

In other news, San Jose and Chicago are fighting for their lives tonight. We'll see if either of those teams can step it up.

Well, just left the TD Banknorth Garden after depressing Bruins loss. Good seats, beautiful women all around me. Things got worse, driving home listening to Red Sox blow a #^*€! 9 run lead. Only good thing is my gig tonight in 2.25 hrs.

Back to Bruins- this loss was on Thomas in my opinion. Better win Sunday :bawl:
