just wondering guys... what bass strings do you use for your 8ers, round, flat, half, taped... any other?
I've tried flats last night, they feel really good for fingers, but I like more the sound of rounds so I've switched back to rounds.

I've heard of people using flats for the fundamental strings and rounds for the octaves, but I've never tried it myself.

Mostly, they are for getting different varieties of bad sound. There some great ones in there too, but you might never find them if you just go knob twiddlin. Knowing where they are is one of the secret mysteries that Bich owners are forbidden to show non initiates.

On my Bich currently I have the low EADG and corresponding octave strings from a 12 string guitar, tuned down to the proper tension - rather than picking a key and tuning to it, I tuned it to what would be safe for the bass and comfortable to play.
