The Official Charvel/Jackson Club!

Does anybody know which 2-band preamp comes installed in the Ellefson 30th Anniversary basses, whether you can buy it separately, how it compares to 2-band preamps in other Charvels and Jacksons of that era (Eliminators, Wingers, et cetera)?
I'm just guessing it's a JE-2000 or a clone of one.
At Least that what is in the USA JACKSON I have, but its fried
amimbari had a link to one on ebay on here,
Jackson Guitar JE-2000 Active Equalization Low Impedance Preamp for Basses | eBay.

Hope this Help

I'm curious as well because it's definitely not the old JE-2000 or whatever.

Edit: Sniped!

Sounds like you're talking about this one!

I owned 3 Jackson Concert Basses in the late 80's - a Ferrari Red dot-neck Student Model with passive Jackson P/Humbucker pups, and a pair of Custom Shop Tiger Striped Concert Basses with piezo-only pickups - one in pink/black, and one in yellow/black. I've missed them ever since I sold them

So I'm possibly not in the right place (this is not the best bass for metal - guaranteed!), but I'm hoping to find out some info about my Charvel Surfcaster 425. I got it years ago from a Music Go Round at a stupidly good price, and while I've found a bit of info about it online (like this Warwick forum post) I can't really find much.

For example, it has the finish of the 425SLX (on the left in the image in the linked post) but the electronics are for the 425SL. Inside the cavity there is a sticker with "8520" on it - not sure if that's the serial, but it's the only thing that looks like one that I can find.

Anyone here know anything about these??

wow That's something you don't see everyday!

Have a chance to pick up a Charvel Eliminator or a CSB-075, wont be able to play them til next week. What would you pick? Lets just say they are both in the same condition.
Curious, from where? I see the latter usually from those Japanese resellers on eBay. Yes pics would help. Here's just some specs from my database I guess until then. Ignore incomplete color charts:

  • Charvel Eliminator: A 1990-91 plainer version of Fusion Bass. Poplar body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard with dots. 24 frets Jackson J-20/ J-150 PJ (with Charvel covers) bass pickups with two band bass/treble preamp JE-2000. JB-440 high mass bridge. Finishes: snow white, midnight black, Ferrari red, candy blue, radiant red pearl

  • Charvel CSB-075: Sen body, maple bolt-on neck, rosewood fretboard. 24 frets. Jackson J20/J150 PJ, JE-2000 electronics. CBT-02 bridge. Vol, treble, bass, balance. Gold hardware. Headstock matches finish. Finishes: STB, STP, STR, STA

A question for the Official Charvel/Jackson Club!
Which pick up options would you chose??
OPTION 1 Original Jackson PJ Wired in Passive 1VOL and 3 way switch (IF It would work)
OPTION 2 Original Jackson PJ Wired in Active with a JE-2000 clone or replacement preamp
OPTION 3 Seymour Duncan PJ Quarter Pounds (either VVT or VV +3way switch)
OPTION 4 EMG PJ with a JE-2000 clone or replacement preamp

Thanks
