Is the new Cabronita? Awesome.

The jury is still out on those, for me. I mean, they're kinda weird looking but they sound great in the YouTube demos

I really like mine sounds great in a band looks cool. The neck is a little beefier than a regular P but I don't really notice it. It came with nickel rounds which sound good but I put some chromes on it and it really came to life.

I finished up my parts bass today. should I get a tug bar and pickup cover or just put screws in the extra holes they kinda bother me.

Back in the Man Cave where she belongs. This MIM '50s Precision is one of the finest basses ever to darken my humble door. I foolishly sold her a few months back to make room for another P. Fortunately, the new owner needed to thin the herd and, coming to my senses, I swooped. These fine instruments don't get nearly the love they deserve. MIA pickup, great neck, resonant two-piece body, beautiful workmanship. P heaven at a fraction of the price.

What is the difference between the Fender '50s Precision ($749.99 at MF) and the Fender Classic Series '50s Precision ($899.99 at MF)?

The lower-priced bass is the poly-finished version, in multiple colors, and with gig bag IIRC. The higher-priced one is the new nitro finish with tweed case, so far available only in black. Both are MIM. I have the poly (2011 build). Used prices on these are ridiculously reasonable, $500ish.

I'm thinking about putting a bridge and pickup cover on my '51 RI Precision. Thoughts?

I took the pickup covers off of all of my basses. I often play directly over the pups.

I never had one on my Sting (which is as close to a '51 as I have around here) though. I like to use the pup as a thumb rest. My Sting has a crescent-shaped wedge of plastic or electrical tape-wrapped cardboard or something stuffed into the gap of the pup on the E-string side that I use as a rest. It was there from the PO and works fine.

I do like bridge covers but not all of my basses have them.

Thanks.

Measure twice, drill once! :D

Center punch lightly, and put a little piece of blue painter's tape where you're going to drill to the finish from flaking around the drilled hole.

I'd like to join the club and I'm requesting a number for my 2012 Fender American Special with an amazing satin stained honeyburst finish. As soon as I figure how to post a pic I will do so, she is a beauty eh!
