Awesome. Why no carbon rods? I have the same MM bridge pickup in a Warwick $$ 4 string (MC 5 FE/M2), but I put the covered MC 4 HE/S in the neck. They pair nicely.

Have been lurking here a while. Your order looks cool. You used the online configurator? If yes, some questions if you have patience:
  1. When using the configurator from the USA, is it for ordering factory direct? Or, is a dealer or distributor still involved with the process?
  2. What if you wish to specify something not addressed in the configurator, such as pickup location or spacing?
  3. Am somewhat unclear about the process of how to order a custom bass. Is it either factory direct or dealer based? Or, is it some combination of the 2?
Any clarification, insight, shared experience, or advice is much appreciated.

Give the toneformer a try. Mine is in passive mode (off) most of the time, but it's nice to have a backup EQ in case my amp or pedal settings don't sound right. I also use it as an extra 'pedal EQ switch', such as 'on for slap tone'.

I've been dealing with an authorized dealer here in the states. The pricing on the config is direct from the distributor, an authorized dealer will normally get around 20% off.

Add any non configurator specifics in the comment section at the end.

I build the bass I want on the config, send the dealer my final invoice, they then put in the order with the company for dealer pricing.

I didn't work with a dealer and I'm based in NY. I used the configurator and emailed Maruszczyk with any questions (and I had a few). Adrian emailed me back almost immediately if I reached out during his working hours. Communication was awesome.

There's a box at the end of the config where you can add comments. You can also email Adrian and let him know what you need.

I finished the config, submitted it online, then got a confirmation email with instructions on how to send my deposit (I did it through Paypal). Shipping is going to be about 100 euros, but I don't have to pay VAT tax. There might be a 9% charge at customs but I've heard that doesn't always happen. I didn't know anything about ordering through a dealer, if it's true that it's 20% cheaper, I wish I had! But the process was super smooth and simple.

I'll be joining this club later this year, as I've just ordered this Esquire-inspired medium scale Mr Tee!

I've always been a fan of Telecaster body bass guitars, but they're not actually that widely available. That, and I wanted one with a single coil or stacked humbucker.

This will be my first custom bass, so you'll understand how excited and also anxious I'm about this one :D
