Is the body going to be chambered at all to help with the weight since the Joker body is rather large?
For those that know -- how do luthiers deal with the deep holes and gaps in burl tops? I've read they "fill it in" but how exactly does that work? What do they fill it with?
I just emailed asking if the JHJ configuration is possible on an Elwood C. Fingers crossed! Quotes from both Atelier Z and Adrian, then I'll have to make a choice.

I didn’t see an option in the configurator to chamber the body to save weight, but I did my best to pick light-weight options (alder body, lightweight tuners, 4 string, 32” scale, etc).
I’m hoping it comes in under 9lbs, but if it’s over, it’s not the end of the world.
You can ask about things not specifically mentioned in the configurator. The worst they can do is say no.
I suppose grain filler can be used or Mohawk Instrument Sealer with wet sanding between coats to level out before finish clear coat if doing a gloss finish. For a matte finish the texture of the wood can be left open and just sealed (which I prefer) as in this example.
I've mocked up something like this, apparently it can be done. Just waiting on preamp/control options now there's a H in there.
This is a bass they actually made, so I know they can do the one you configured.
I have the JPJ setup on my Fender Urge. Pretty versatile setup.
By the way, when you hear back from them about that configuration, please post it here. I'd be interested in knowing. Seriously, I'm already tempted to buy the one I posted (it's currently [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]), and I like the look of your configuration better.

All, I'm more than likely going to "cheat" on Maruszczyk and do a custom build with Martin Keith Guitars. Martin makes fantastic stuff and will probably be placing my order with him within a week. He builds fantastic instruments and his typical build would probably be an additional $1500 over a similar Maru. I'm going a little less crazy with it (no triple AAA top, etc), so the build should come in about $800 more than a fully tricked out Jazzus or Frog. I'll be having him build a headless high 5 (strung E-C).

I have cheated on Maruzczyk a few times lately. Variety is the spice of life. Love my Maru's. I also love the Maru community that had been built here

A few weeks ago I happened across Mike Bendy on YouTube demoing his Mini MB Presentation. The chord grooves he was playing got me itching for a 6 string. I ain't got nobody's Fodera money, so I started searching for a 6. The body shapes of most modern 6 strings are a real turn off for me so I started trying to find one that looks like a traditional Jazz Bass. Enter Maruszczyk. I had Christmas money, sold off a few items that I no longer used, but still didn't quite have the funds to grab an Elwood 6er on Reverb after taxes and $200+ shipping from Europe. I kept my search up for an Elwood, when lo and behold, I came across a secondhand Elwood L 6A at Anderton's. Stupid good price, excellent condition, should be here on Tuesday of next week. I'm hella excited.
As SOON as it gets here I’ll be posting. If my investigation was correct, I think it’s this one that sold on bassdirect some time ago.
