The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

Thanks for the heads up! I will look for that thread. The current sleeping arrangements for this bass aren't working very well.

A few weeks in beyond initial honeymoon and a chance for the bass to settle to its new climate, still blown away by this guy. I've been able to play it in a few band practices and it sits nicely within our context. I did end up switching from my usual steel DR loriders to nickel which took off a little hi mids and added low mids making it sit a bit more like my other basses without adjusting any tone knobs on the amp, though, the timbre in a more characteristic sense is still like I noted above.

A month after receiving this, I've decided to sell one of my other basses and put in an order for another Frog.
I have a pickup configuration picked out, but I am not sure about the finish.

I've scrolled through most of the recent of this thread but wondering if y'all wouldn't be so kind as to share with me some of your favorite finish option pics. Thanks.

Hi! Long time lurker and have really enjoyed seeing many of the builds here. I'm considering picking up a second-hand Jake and have a question (did some searching but couldn't find an answer). Does Maruszczyk offer spare parts for sale? In particular I'm wondering about a replacement pickguard. Besides wanting to potentially change the color if I buy this other bass, I'll likely want to change the control configuration, but want to have a backup in case things go sideways and I decide to revert to stock. From what I can tell their P-style guard isn't the same as a Fender, but I could be wrong. I've bought from places like WD in the past and they've been great, but they've only been Fender spec, and I haven't found any place that mentions they support Maruszczyk.

Thanks!

One thing I like to do is go through the wood/top collection:

Wood

And then decide if I want to go color stained, natural etc.

I would shoot them an email to ask if they can get what you need to you. [email protected] . I have always received fast reply's from them.

The Facebook and Instagram groups have a lot of photos. YouTube is also great. It also helps to look at your bass collection and see what will compliment what you have. Let's see what you come up with! My 2 orders are eye poplar and Spalted maple.

Hello peeps. Considering an order for a frog and deciding on pickup options. I set myself a budget of $2k. I'm undecided on the pickups. I'm going passive most likely. Have anyone picked the Haeussels? How are these compare to others?

I spent a lot of time looking at the plethora of pictures on the Maru Facebook page. Good advice. The issue I had, was there were so many beautiful basses in there that it was hard to narrow down to a wood choice.

Finally got here. I couldn't recreate the couch photo because my wife and daughter were both on the couch.

So far, I like it. I've only heard it through my Boss Waza Air headphones though. While they're great for quiet practice, they don't really give me the warm and fuzzies with the sound no matter the bass. I'll put it through my BC208s tomorrow.

Intonation is pretty good. The E string will need a little bit of adjusting. Either the action will need to be raised a tad on the E, A, & D strings, or a slight truss rod adjustment. There's some buzzing 17-20 on those two strings, as well as the pickups needing to be lowered on the bass side of the instrument. The B string warbles terribly in the upper frets.

I'll change out the strings to some nickels, and give it some modicum of a setup tomorrow.

Time to start chording like Mike Bendy, Oteil, Andrès Rotmistrovsky, Janek, Richard Bona & Bubby Lewis!
