Yeah its a big single in the neck and dual coil 5 in the bridge position, pretty unique.

Oh man I am still trying to figure that out. We definitely have a master volume, master blend, 3 band eq with one of them acting as a filter, and a tone that acts as an active-passive switch.
It arrived today just over 20 weeks. Very pleased with it. Great quality great price. Its going to be my gigging bass now, its a bit lighter than my Elwood but both quality instruments.

So. I'm ordering a 32" Elwood. Alder body, maple neck/fb, aguilar hum cancelling j pups.
I've made all my decisions except I'm stuck on the pre amp decision. What information pushed you over the edge toward one pre amp or the other? The aggie pre would make sense except I keep hearing how the bass control is just too much/too sensitive. Suggestions?

Nice! People seem to like the Noll preamps. I have a 3 band Noll in my 30" Elwood and the bass/treble & mid controls are not as sensitive as the Delano or Aguilar pre's. But Aguilar preamps sound great also

I've seen them in a few other Maruszczyks, even though they're not a configurator option.
I don't have any experience of a lot of the other preamps in the configurator, but I do have an Elwood with the Noll TCM 3P [the one with the three sweepable B/M/T band EQ].
It's a lovely sounding, quiet, gentle and musical preamp, with no harsh or unusable extremes - though I've found that having 3 sweepable frequencies is overkill in practice.
Having said that, if I was ordering another Elwood, I'd almost certainly go for a John East preamp of some kind - J-Retro or Uni Pre. I've got an ACG with a John East P-Retro, and being able to get that P-bass clanky/spanky sound out of something that looks absolutely nothing like a traditional P brings me more joy than I care to admit

Here's a couple of pics. Changed vol and tone knobs to domed ones. Changed the strings. Intonation bang on still. They are, for me, really well set up.
I have the Maruszczyk Toneformer 3MS/TP in my Frog, and I'm happy enough with it that I plan to have the same preamp again when it comes time to order another Maruszczyk bass. If that tells you anything.
I have a Noll 4-band in my fretless and it is good sounding with nice mild controls, which fits that bass. I had a Noll 3 in a Frog with Delanos (P/MM) and it sounded great too. I have Aguilar OBP3 in all of my other bases, except for my Warwicks.
With OBP3 I can dial in the exact tone that I want and/or need super easy and the adjustments don't take much but easily get me right where I need to be. I leave the bass flat 95% of the time and for certain songs I can boost the bass just a little and that's all I need. It's really an amazing pre, I have push pulls on all of my basses mid controls so it's really easy to boost the mids a little bit and brighten it by popping up the knob (400/800), which I do for a few different songs.

I'm in agreement for the most part, the Toneformer is a good preamp. If Adrian would offer the Trickfish IPA as an option, I think that would be my default moving forward for any new builds. It's a very versatile preamp.
I ordered my (34") Elwood (Nordstrand single coil J type pickups) with the East deluxe preamp. This is a great preamp but was too much for the classic Jazz Bass tones I was looking for. I tried it with a 4 band Pope preamp, with a passive set up (stacked volume tone), with an Audere pre and finally with a Nordstrand 2 band. The Nordstrand works great in this bass with these pickups. Clear tone with as much or as little bass and treble boost as you want.
These will be my last two basses, I'm lucky to be able to own two quality instruments. Both short scales 30". I remember my first bass was a Kay P Bass not sure if they were available in the US but they weren't great.
Cool basses, what P-bass pickup is that? Is it bright, mellow, or mid-rangey?
It's a Nordstrand P blade. Sound wise bearing in mind I've only just got it I'd say you could get any tone you want from them, but definitely a nice P tone.

I'm on week 14 and hoping to see a couch shot in the next few weeks.
