The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

I found a few examples in various corners of the internet. One example is about halfway down the list of Public Peace's Bass of the month.

Doh! Thank you, I guess I could have just searched for Purple since Bishop is transparent Purple basically.:thumbsup:

I have to show you one of the coolest things I've seen this week. It's an Elwood listed on Reverb.

Be careful! All those are either Translucent Purple or 2-tone Purple. Not Bishop.

The only example I think I have of Bishop is this:

As you can see, it's more towards the red side of the purple spectrum - Plum or Mulberry, perhaps.

Here's my 2-tone Translucent Purple Elwood for comparison:

I have been looking for an example online of a finished Maruszczyk/Mensinger Ash body or top finished with gloss transparent Bishop. No luck finding any. Curious if it will look similar to the configurator color.
Anyone here have that color on a build?

Likely you've seen this offering in the store (quilted ash)

Assuming that the bass is all in working order, then that's a great price - even by Maruszczyk's unfathomably low used UK market prices.

Having a new one built to that spec would be £1500. And that's not even factoring in any import fees.

The configurator only allows for a 'C' shape profile neck, and I can confirm that it's a very comfortable profile, especially when coupled with a satin finish.

I'm sure that Marus with custom neck profiles exist - they are very accommodating with their custom orders, after all - but I imagine that they're very rare. Given the spec of this one, it's almost certainly the standard 'C' shape.

I really don't know where you'd have to go for a better J-bass for £550. A Sire, perhaps?

Even if it needs some fret work, you'd still be getting a good deal.

Just my opinion - hope that helps :)

By far the worst Bass I've ever owned. It's beautiful to look at but my Ibanez BTB just kills it. From the 13th fret on the B string it goes dead, I mean like incredibly dead, like a rubber band strung across a Coffee can dead. I emailed Adrian, since I bought it used he couldn't help me. The Bass brand new was like 3500.00. I'm so glad I didn't pay that for it. Never again!

Although I do appreciate when people are posting about bad experiences I'd be interested in hearing sound samples showing the problem. Maybe people here can help you fix it?
Of course I'd try a new set of strings first, even if the current ones are new(ish). Another brand and/or gauge might work wonders.
