The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

I recently made a trip to The LowEndBass Shop in Murfreesboro, TN. After doing some trading, I come home with this "very slightly used" Elwood Light. It's a blond beauty & weighs under 8 lbs. It has great fretwork & handles a very low action set up.
I had never heard of this brand, but after coming home w/ this Elwood, I searched the Web & discovered Adrian Maruszczyk and Public Peace. I would like the opportunity to try a Frog, Paddock, & Sputnik sometime. They're all great looking instruments & Adrian does a great job demonstrating them on his videos!

Another shot....

Svoboda Acoustic 5-string bass soundclips.

This is pretty amazing:

Ulasengin, Thanks for bringing these to our attention!

All the best,

Bob

This is Adrian`s personal bass. I`ve played if a few times. It sounds incredible, is plenty loud unplugged, and is very comfortable at 32 scale. The low B string sounds as good as the rest.

Joining this club...sooooon.
I by the time I get back from annual training in the last week of July, my bass should be here.

I haven't bought a "new" bass since 1999. But the looks of this thing and the tone on the demo are right up my alley. Should fit perfectly for the band I'm resurrecting.

I will post more when I get it!

An update: I took my blonde, natural flame maple Elwood 5L back to THELOWEND bass shop in Murphreesboro, TN. I traded it back for an American deluxe Jazz V. After spending more time with the Elwood, I was noticing some "hollow sounding" notes with heavy overtones (primarily higher up the neck especially on the B string). I'm assuming that this was due to the extreme chambering of the alder body. I've also come to appreciate a 3 band active EQ in order to have more control over the mids in a band situation. The Elwood's have a 2 band EQ. All in all, the Elwood 5 L is a beautiful instrument with fine fret work & a pleasant tone outsides the higher register of the neck "B&E strings" (where most of us don't go that often anyway). This bass may still be available @ THELOWENDBASSSHOP......it's in excellent "like new" condition with a new set of Cobalt strings.....
