Don't have the series position anymore as I rewired it coil1/parallel/coil2 but am planning to do the coil1/series/coil2 wiring as I don't like the parallel position either on its own or combined with the P (and the series position is the only one with enough lows to rival those of the P pickup). Will try my best to come up with some samples. Still there was no major difference in volume back when factory wired (series/parallel/coil1), just EQ sounds radically diverse: series is more bassy, parallel is brighter and single is in-between (front coil -further apart from bridge- is ballsier). I use P+humbucker's back coil (closest to bridge) for a J-like tone. And use the front coil (mixing some P for added lows) to get a Musicman like tone (the amount of P varies, less for fingerstyle, more for picking). P tone is definitely more convicing when switching the push/pull in the volume knob to passive. The thing with the coil tap switch is that it's just that, therefore you're subject to the things that naturally happen when changing impedance (parallel getting thin, series getting bassy). In Musicman basses you switch from one to another position and there's not that much EQ mismatch (altho' timbre changes noticeably) so you don't have to reach for the amp to adjust, can be changed mid-song no problem. I think they have a preset EQ for each position in the electronics. Delano's electronics don't allow for that, the switch goes before any electronics and outputs to the volume knob.
