I guess that we shall see. It's ordered and I'm trying my best not to tinker with what I submitted unless there is an obvious problem. I have an amp that has a setting for 300 and get usable tones from it in that setting. We're in agreement though on 500 & 800....

Can you explain why 300 is unusable in comparison to 500 and 800?
I'm trying to learn, so that's why I am asking.
Years ago, I had to choose between three mid modules (250, 375 and 500), and my
luthier told me that the 375 was the best option.
I said unusual not unusable.. Just from my experience mixing bands I usually don't touch that range...

Update on my recently acquired Elwood Absolution 6a-24: I played it a lot this weekend and started to have some worries about it, all having to do with its configuration, essentially. The strings felt really tight, with a lot of tension, and the placement of the bridge pickup seemed just close enough to the bridge that it was making things worse, etc. These things started to make me hyper-aware of other things, like the lack of a contour for the right arm, etc. Anyway, long story short: I took a breath and spent some time making adjustments. To begin with, there was some relief in the neck, so I got out the included allen wrench and straightened it. Now the neck is completely straight (my preference). That helped immensely, because then I was able to adjust the action to my liking, which was easier to do AFTER I read the manual (duh!). I also put on some older strings, which are less bright and less tight, in my experience (also a preference). Lo and behold, the Elwood plays really great now. It's perfect and I'm back to totally digging it, no worries. Moral of the story: Don't be a doofus like me and forget that any bass requires some adjustment and tweaking when you get it. Spend some time with the included allen wrenches. I know this is a no-brainer for most people, but I had forgotten and it caused an ever-so-slight moment of concern.

Yeah me too. Came out way nicer than the configurator! The whole bass came out nicer than I thought. I'm very excited. I hope my money is transferred to his bank account today so that he will send it this week, knowing he will be @ NAMM next week!!
2 sofa shots. One is a custom build Jazzus medium scale for a customer. The other one a Cazpar 4a for our stock.

Analysis paralysis y'all... 5 string Jake, which bridge and tuners? 19mm spacing allows for the "standard big" or any of the allowed hipshot variants, of whic I only like the B and Vintage. 18mm spacing changes the standard option to "F style" or a small upcharge for "monorail", again with the other hipshot options. I honestly don't know which spacing, but bridge style could be a factor.
Tuners... Donovan at Fretspot says the standard ones are just fine, but heavier, and a LOT cheaper, and he sees no reason to upgrade, whereas others in the thread say they squeak and are poor quality...
Anyone want to throw out some advice?

My Elwood 4a has 19mm spacing and I'm pretty sure the tuners are the default clover style option. The bridge is also F-Style. I'd prefer a bridge that had more adjustment options but that's something that can easily be modified down the road if needed.
Hipshot hardware was requested on my build that is currently in progress primarily because it was a brand I was familiar with and also to possibly reduce weight. At the time that the order was placed, I had never seen a Maruszczk so I was maybe a little apprehensive as well. Lately when I've been dreaming in the configurator, I've been looking at the Standard and Standard BIG bridges. Both Standard and also the F-Style allow for 19mm.
I'm positive that Donovan has seen a lot more Maruszczyk instruments than I have and I agree with the information you stated was provided by him. The default hardware options are fine.

If you go into the 5 string Jake, to the hardware screen, and switch spacing, 19mm is either standard big or one of the 6 hipshot options, if you go to 18, its F style or monorail + the hipshots, and 17 is "standard" or monorail, plus the hipshots.
I have never even thought about a bridge before, so I am pretty out of the loop on what they all do. After some research into aluminum v brass, seems that IF there is a tone difference, I would prefer aluminum, but I play a P with the tone off and flats, so I doubt I'd notice anything on that end. So if there is adjustment, and... well it holds my strings I guess I don't care too much, but there isn't alot (or any...) info on the non hipshot options.
What string spacing are you leaning towards? That obviously is going to narrow your choices. If it's 19mm, the Standard BIG looks like it draws some influence from the Hipshot Type A.

Are you dealing with Donovan? If so, I'd talk to him to see if he can offer any additional insight. My bridge choice was the Hipshot Kick Ass. I can't really explain how I got there in a way that would make sense to anyone other than me but I understand where your head is at, I think.
It sounds like you just don't have much, if any, experience with Maruszczyk basses. Therefore, the unknown factor is affecting you. I was certainly at that stage before placing my order and I think I stayed there until I got my Elwood 4 after placing the order for my custom build. Once I got that 4, I could see, feel & hear the quality. I was able to relax a lot then.
I'm not suggesting that you buy another bass to make yourself feel more at ease.
My point is that quality components are used on these basses. You can relax about that. Figuring out what you think is going to work best for you? Well, you're on your own with that my Brother! LOL!
