Whats the build quality like on these Maruszczyks? I've been itching for a 24 fret 5 string, looking at the ELWOOD 5p-24. Spoke with Donovan at Fretspot and he compared the build quality to equal around a Sadowsky Metro. Any thoughts from TBr's who owned Maruszczyk and other American boutique brands? Thanks!

I have an Elwood 5P-24, 33inch and I’m very happy with the bass! Build quality is great! You choose hardware, wood and pickups from a lot of options! Ecstatically you can let them build the bass you want for a good price! Better then Fender!

I've played a number of Fender Custom Shop basses (production run stuff, not Masterbuilt), G&Ls and Lakland Skylines and would say my Jake compares very favorably to those. Yes, the real draw is the ability to spec out exactly what you want and get a great quality bass for a reasonable price.

If I could only grab a few basses before my apartment went up in flames .... Froggy will certainly be one of them. Maruszczyk makes outstanding basses .... trust us

They're the business.....You will not be sorry if you take the plunge...

I am happy about that, because I know Adrian Maruszczyk since 2006 and he is really a great Guy. A playing and working Musician, who loves what he does. Yesterday I visited him again in his Home in Aldenhoven/Germany. We talked about this and that and of Course I've tried some of his Basses and left his Home with.....

Elwood 5a
- Ash Body
- Maple Neck & Fretboard
- Delano 5C5AL Pickups
- ABM Hardware
- Glockenklang 2-Band Preamp/EQ
- 19mm Stringspacing
- 4,3Kg (wich is 9lbs, i think)

Ha - just spotted this. This is now my bass, although with different Delano pickups after the second owner put in Bartoloni's & I swapped back. I also got a custom straight black pickguard made replacing the BWB original. It's the best bass I've ever played & I've had a few!!

I have an Elwood L 5-24, and I also own a Sadowsky NYC 5-24 Modern. The Sadowsky is lighter weight and has a different tone. The Marusczyck is good build quality for sure, I’d venture to say they might be a bit nicer than the Metros. Only regret I have is not going with Nordstrands...I like the Hauessels but prefer Nordy pups...they are more open sounding.

Why won't you swap the pickups?)
