If you expect a B-string like for example on a Dingwall bass with fanned frets, you will be disappointed. But if you are looking for a B-string with which you can make music, it will work fine.

But is it comparable to a Dingwall with a fanned-fret M bass?

No, not me. I believe Adrian's fanned fret basses have a 35.5" B-string, so more like the Ibanez ones.

I absolutely love my Dingwall AB .... Sheldon Dingwall knows how to make a killer instrument .... They are in a completely different class of playability ... I was just talking to a bass player friend last night about how after you play a Dingwall exclusively of r a period of time, it's hard to transition back to something else and I agreed. Even the Chinese made NG2's are top notch!
