Wow. Just checked out the Maruszczyk bass of the month, which is a multi-scale Hellwood five. Can't say I'm into the multi-scale thing, exactly, but that is an absolute killer-looking bass! I love what Adrian and other makers are doing with the finishes on coarse-grained woods like swamp ash. I love the texture of that finish. Yummy.

Hi everyone,
I am entertaining the idea of buying an electric guitar gigbag for a headless Frog, which is now being built for me. To find a suitable bag, I need the length and width of a comparable bass. Is there anyone here who is willing to do some measuring for me? I would be very grateful.
Edit: I am thinking about a more luxurious, sturdy bag (in the spirit of Gator Progo, RB RBX et cetera) than the standard bag that is supplied. Depending on the possibilities I might just buy a standard sized bass bag that also fits my other instruments.

I am looking to expand my collection (2011 fretted frog 6 and 2014 fretless frog 6) with another Maruszczyk 6-string.
I played a Ken Smith bass recently and I loved the sound and playability of it, but I'd much rather support Adrian and buy a Mazusczcyk elwood/frog, as well as buying more local, since I'm from Belgium
I know pickup location is something that's important in the KS sound and that it's something that can be discussed with Adrian, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with pickups / preamps that can get a similar sound? I'm looking for a modern, very clear, mid-rangey sound and a bass where very low action is possible.
Does anyone know if this would be possible to get this Ken Smith-ish type of sound out of a Maruszczyk bass, or should I just get a real Ken Smith?

This, if you can afford it. As much as I like to support Adrian, even if a potential build gets close to your expectations, it will not be a Smith.
Ken Smith uses pickups made by Kent Armstrong, the handmade kind not the imported ones. They are ceramic magnets with adjustable poles. I’d contact Kent and have him make some pups for your new Maruszczuk.
I can only speak for my 32" Elwood L by repeating what I have already said elsewhere. When I asked Adrian prior to the build what I could expect from the B-string, he said more or less this, which I can confirm a 100% having owned the bass for two years now.
If you expect a B-string like for example on a Dingwall bass with fanned frets, you will be disappointed. But if you are looking for a B-string with which you can make music, it will work fine.
