The Official MTD USA Thread

It's pretty juch a plain Jane. No top walnut with wenge neck. I think the timing of the order compared to the gear circuit (NAMM/etc) is part of it. Good to hear it's not just me. Last email from Mike he was shooting for late January...which is why I'm ancy. I know it'll be worth it of course!
The same thing happened to me with one my last MTD. Not to worry - I'm sure it won't be long. :)

That's why sometimes it's better to go through a Dealer, they (we) can manage the build time with Mike since dealers are ordering multiple basses at the same time and can adjust which one to be build first if it's possible. Anyways, Mike has never been able to finish a bass less then 8 months IME, the longest took 12 months for me, and it's mostly because there's only 3 people there and when they have trade shows, weather problem, etc, everything got set back.

But Mike has been doing his best everytime to keep up with his schedule.

Dang, he's never finished within 8 months?! That's crazy! And to think you guys are still waiting 10+ months to get yours. I've been planning on getting my own custom MTD but that wait...I think i'd go insane from the GAS. Hard to believe people sell their custom MTD's after waiting for nearly a year to get them.

Not in my experience, if it's a true custom build (you decide every spec, pick the top wood, etc). My current build is maybe the fastest yet.

If it's a Signature Model, like AGS or the new Norm Stockton, Mike usually made a few within a period, so the wait is not as long, I once ordered an AGS 5, and it's done in 2 months. That time he has two of them being made.
