The Official MTD USA Thread

Nice!! Justin Raines is one of my favorite players . He has been favoring his Saratoga 5 lately. I haven't seen him use his 535's in quite some time.

Don't think I've ever seen Bobby Veha with anything other than one of his vintage Fenders in his hands. Nice to see him branch out to the modern style MTD bass.

Justin is great for sure...you might catch him playing a 535 soon enough...I believe he bought (maybe, maybe not) the one he's playing in the vid above (Black Limba body, Quilted Maple Top, Ash neck, Mineral stained Birdseye Maple board)...it was voted by Mike and Daniel as their Favorite NAMM bass this year BTW...

This is actually my bass. It's a 634-24 17mm loaded with the Super pickups, and man is it AMAZING! It has a more focused voice with less dynamic range, but it's thicker throughout the full range of the bass. The low end is fat and warm, mids are nice and articulate, and the highs are round, warm, clear, and bell-y without being harsh.

Justin Raines @ The NAMM SHOW....sweet 635...

Beautiful bass. What are the woods?

The string spacing looks more like the wide spacing on my Curbows than what I'm used to seeing on a 535, or remember from the ones I've owned. Is that my imagination, or do you know if it is actually wider (20mm vs. 19mm, wider nut) than the standard 535/Super 5?

Bubby's sig bass is 20mm as opposed to the standard 19mm. We switched basses for a bit and I could definitely feel the extra 1mm.

Not really sure TBH....I've seen Mike to custom spacing a before...they didn't say it was any different than normal..
