The Official MTD USA Thread

I played it at Summer NAMM and it was killer. Played and sounded like a dream
The main thing I want is that pickup combination, but I'll most likely go the custom route. I've already got 3 basses from them near completion, so I suppose I can wait on another. haha

I'm also very interested in that pickup combo for the next one, but I haven't found any samples online and I've never even seen a P/MM of any brand in a store.

The first he ever made is the one on Reverb now. So unless that shop made some recordings. There are no samples anywhere. He does have one in production slated to go to winter NAMM but if you want one. Hit him up and take that one before someone else does. The one on reverb sounded spectacular at summer NAMM

I have a Saratoga in progress and would like to remain married.

Here is an interesting observation. I have never seen a US made MTD at Guitar Center.
i personally feel this is a good thing. GC is notorious for not maintaining decent setups. as a result, the appropriate playing experience would not be faithfully represented, potentially damaging the brand value.

I have seen Fodera, Sadowsky, Ken Smith and a host of others...

That is all...

I used to see them used at GC back in the early 2000s. Lately they are much more rare to see used in a store like that. High end basses in general are pretty rare at my local GC, which makes sense because if you have a bass you can sell for thousands of dollars used through eBay, Talkbass, Reverb, etc. you'd be taking a pretty big hit selling it to GC.

IMHO, It is a Badge of Honor NOT to have your Products Sold at GC....New or Used.

I recall VERY Clearly the Day I looked at the list of Instruments available through Walmart. WALMART!? Many players seem completely unaware that the M. I. business is fueled largely on Greed, Secret Deals, the buying and BURYING of potential Competitors by Large Manufacturers..... and the Need for Quick Ca$h. The More you know about the Industry....the More you want to take up Bowling. ‍♂️
