I found a Peavey Fury in the garbage, around my block. I showed it to a friend of mine and he told me that he'll buy it off me, for $50. What do you guys think?
Edit: I'll get some pics up soon.
Just got this yesterday so can I be in the club?![]()

Its missing the pick up, pick guard, pots, and screws. Not to mention the person that throw the bass away started to sand the body down.
keep it...
Keep it.
What they said...
ah well, let him buy it then...![]()
As nice as Peaveys may be, that one needs a lot of work just to get playable. You would need a bridge, pots, some kind of pickguard and the easiest part is choosing a pickup. You would probably have to do some routing to get the pickup in. So my conservative estimate is $150 plus lots of labor. When you're finished, you will have a bass thats worth $150 if your lucky. That $50 + $150 gets you into eBay Peavey Foundation territory. Just a thought.

Welcome!
Nice choice.
I actually went in looking for a speaker cabinet! The Super-Ferrite pickups have "SUPER FERRITE" imprinted right on the top of them! How can you tell which Foundations have the fabled Super-Ferrite pickups and which ones don't? One of mine (which I recently bought for a fantastic price from Woody!) has what I would call the "2-segmented" pickups - basically a plastic border with a single coil in the center. The other one (a fretless) has the one-piece soapbars. The instruction manual for the Foundation on the Peavey website lists "super-ferrite" pickups as stock for the model - is that right? Are there two versions of the same pickup, and if so, is one of them superior?
