The 225 is my dream Amp. But a Reeves 100 watt version would be killer also. ( I can Dream )
How about a Reeves Custom 25 bass amp?
I wouldn't think that a low wattage version be that hard.
On the lower power alternative,
A while back I talked to Bill about the possibility of building a lower power 2X KT88 clean machine, but
he didn't think there would be a strong enough demand for one.
He is a custom builder, so maybe he might build a lower powered version on special order???
Along these lines, I just got some
very interesting info.
The Reeves folks currently have an all tube Bass Combo amp in development.
All I know for sure is that it’s going to be 50-60 watts, and from our preliminary
discussions I know that they are aware that practicality is a critical
concern.
I really like the concept of a practical combo bass amp, but I'm a self
professed tube-o-holic; as far as I know Orange, Mesa, Fender, Traynor,
Hiwatt, Marshall, etc. don’t offer an all tube combo, only the Hertitage version of the venerable
Portaflex is available as a "true" tube combo.
I’m a vintage Ampeg B15N owner, and while I love the tone and have no
problem with its portability, I often wish it had a little more “oomph” and
clarity at higher SPL’s.
I’ll post more info as I get it.
