i'm not trying to be patronizing, so i apologize if it comes off that way, but when you say it improved the sustain immensely, i gotta know how you are measuring that and if you are really noticing that much of a difference on an open string held out (sustain on a fretted note would be mostly controlled by your fretting hand & the pluck on the string)? How long do you usually let your instrument sustain?
i find that people are always talking about tone woods and extended headstocks and string through body and this and that making better sustain or some other benefit and i just don't buy into it. Perhaps these things do make a difference, but i couldn't imagine them making more of a difference than the player's technique. Just seems like a lot of marketing mumbo jumbo??? Not trying to start a debate here either, just trying to understand the above comment and what it is based on. "immensely" carries a certain weight.
This makes sense to me as i too dig the beauty of the instruments and the parts. i love hipshot hardware because of it's weight. every oz counts when it comes to a bass's weight. and 3 hours with a bass on your shoulder can leave you sore for a few days if your bass is heavy enough.
lucky man to find what you dig. these forums can be awfully dangerous for making you think you know what you want. i've tried out many a bass or effects due to the power of TB reviews only to find that what might be right for some, may not be right for all. it's a beautiful thing when the bass you want to play most is the bass you've got at home.

Deep-cleaned the grunge off, did a full set-up, and voila!
Played it at rehearsal last night, plays and sounds great!

It's about time I shared this with the folks outside the Roscoe forum.
Behold!
I literally spent 2 years trying to decide how I wanted my dream Roscoe spec'd out.. It turned out 100 times better than I could have imagined. To me, it's easily worth twice what it actually cost.

This is a 2002 Fender JB American deluxe which I bought used, and I am tryng to find more info about this baby, but actually i haven´t found anything not even a picture of a JB AD in this color and with maple finger board. Anyway this is my bass.
