Here's an updated family photo (to include my new Spector which arrived this afternoon :)

I'm thinking of re-finishing the 50's Precision in buttercup yellow with a matte black pick guard - any thoughts on that?

from left to right: Ibanez gio 206, Rogue LX- something de-fretted and 2 single coil strat pickups added (its a piece of crap), Squier Jaguar P/J Special, Ibanez ATK 300, Ibanez Acoustic, and my baby, the classic EBMM SR4. Oh and my dad's epiphone guitar. :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

Ok here's the thing, none of those basses are black on purpose (the rogue is actually green but its so dark it looks black.) The only one that I intended on being black is the ATK.
I got the EBMM when the classics 1st came out and the only 1 I could find that wasn't on back order was that all black one.

I got the acoustic because it played the loudest, it happened to be black.

The 6 string was this amazing deal I found, that was black.

And finally, the jaguar had this incredible sound, and the only one GC had was black.

I bought that Ibanez SR700 for my wife for her Christmas/Birthday/Anniversary present. She was playing an old Washburn, that as far as I was concerned, was total ****.

We got the best gear in town, man!

I got this at Play it again music in Dayton, Ohio. It was made to rock, but its great for jazz too. Sparkle yellow fading to sparkle blue. It has a sparkle green middle. Plays just like a p bass, with super hot pickups. These old Japanese Westones are getting rare, and hard to find. They used the finest tone woods, handmade by MATSUMOKU. Also look out for Aria Pro II and Electra. Collectors are snapping up all the hairmetal, 80's, pointy instruments. Get them now while you still can...

I didn't realize that Play it Again Music was still in operation. Very cool!

Many of my basses were stock when I got them, and now aren't. I just can't leave well enough alone. :D

I sold this beastie earlier this month:

I was getting into Matsumoku basses, and I snagged this Hondo Professional 2 quite cheaply. Ultimately I found it too clunky and heavy to be practical, so I sold it on to some dude who would use it for home recording. I quite liked the tone but found that the frets always seemed about 2 above or below where my accumulated muscle memory of other basses told me they would be...

I aquired this one a few weeks back as Matsumoku take two... its a Westone Thunder 1, and whilst not 100% original it is quite a nice bass still.
