Here is my current stash. An OLP S4, a Spector Legend Custom in bubinga, a Fender '51 reissue, my Steinberger custom, and an Ibanez SR605. Nothing over $350.00 but I've owned expensive basses in the past that sounded no better. My favorite player of all of them is the OLP Spector. It cost me $135.00!

Nice group you have. I really like the Steinberger, would love to have one someday. Nothing wrong with inexpensive instruments, so long as you can make them sound good. :bassist:

My current family. I feel guilty being a weekend warrior and having six basses, so there might be a couple of sales in the future. Or I could just get over the guilt and keep them all as there's not a bad one in the bunch :)

That's:
2010 Alembic Custom Elan 5
2006 Alembic Custom fretless Spalted Maple - Just upgraded to signature electronics (not in pic)
1990 Alembic Elan Quilted Maple Stormburst finish
1988 Alembic Spoiler Coco Bolo
1983 Alembic Spoiler Koa, refinished: Black
1991 Fender Prodigy with Alembic pickups and electronics

Don't feel bad - I'm a weekend warrior with six basses, too. The guilt will subside...

Hell, I am not even playing in a band these days and even still now have 11 Basses.
I do not feel guilty at all.
I work my butt off often 7 days a week.
Plus.............
It is like collecting Art.
Except the Art pleases not only the eyes but the Ears as well!
Double the bang for your collecting buck if ya ask me!! :bassist:

I LOVE each and every one of my basses.
I seem to have a bit of an on going G.A.S. "problem". :D :rollno:
Just wish I did not have to let one go, to get the next one.
I give up an awefull lot of amazing Basses to obtain different ones...
Need hit the Lottery so I can keep them alllll.....( evin grin )
bwaaahahahahaha!!! :bassist:

Here is my Baby.
This is the bass I think I want to have parked along side me in the casket one day.
I can never see myself selling this one.
Would need be on the verge of being homeless first.
And even then I might keep it and jam on the street for nickles before selling her!

2000 Alembic Orion...Zebra wood top...Mahogany Body...Purple heart layered between.
Neck is maple with purple heart between the Maple layers.
Fretboard is Ebony! Brass nut and Brass 2 pc bridge.

Wow. Beautiful.

Assembled a current Family portrait as of this week.
Let go of a EBMM LE Ray and a G&L ASAT fretless.
Replaced with a EBMM Dargie Delight LE Ray and a 2011 LE Gibson Thunderbird.
So switched a few in the Portrait to update.
*Some pics are by the store/seller

Damn, there's some amazing looking basses in this thread!!!

I'm just starting to get moderately serious with bass guitar, so I went and found an Ibanez sr506 that I negotiated for $280. Came with a hardcase, strap, and emg's.. Pretty good for the price I must say. I run it through a 200watt Peavey 15'' and I can get some really versatile and great tones :)

Nice, and good deal. You sure it's a 506 though? I don't think they were made in that finish, only natural mahogany.
