well then you will appreciate this pic

just don't take too much notice at how wrung out I look. I had worked for a week at a bike rally. Every night I closed the bar, and locked up. Then I was doing inventory by 8 am every morning. My butt was dragging on the ground

Thanks very much Brooks! It is actually fully hollow...no center block what so ever.

Oh, I didn't know that haha. Nevertheless, quality bass, I played it literally right out of the box when a local music store called me to tell me it was in, played like a dream. I really wanted to try the decade, but those are a little less common. How do you like the chi-sonics in the decade, and do you like how they differentiate in response compared to the acoustic one? Also, could you compare the play-ability to something else?

Best regards,

Brooks :bassist:

Beautiful pair! You have some mojo there!

Kudos!
thanks bro :D

Great stuff!
I normally do not go for Fenders.
But THAT is one beautiful Fender!! WOW!
Reminds me of my first bass..
A natural finish Fender P.
I think it was a 1976 or 77?....Know it was a few years old and I bought it when I started playing in 1979. ( wish I still had it :( )
Congrats on owning such beautiful timeless basses! :bassist:
yeah,a natural finish bass is my favourite color. it is so hot i think :hyper:

Love the ChiSonics in the Decade the tone is complete different between the two basses. The HB has this tension in the tone from the arched top and back I assume...but the Decade is super throaty, deep, and authoritative. I call it the "Voice of God":-) The Decade plays like a Jazz..the only difference being that the nut is a little farther out because of the shorter upper horn. Because of the very wide placement of the pickups, it's filled with tone variations.

I think it's a 2003/04, not sure. I bought it via CL, for 200 bones. Had flats in pic, but changed to D'Addario 50-105 rounds. I'm new also, BTW.

Newbie on this forum, been active for a couple of years on the Dutch Bass guitar forum. Here are the basses I've got right now

70sCustomPrecision023.jpg

70's Custom Precision made from:

late 70's Fender US Body (Sprayed in '71 Volkswagen Navy Blue);
AllParts Maple (Vintage Tint) / Ebony neck;
Hanson NeoPunch pickup;
Hipshot Lollipop tuners;
Fender / AllParts hardware;
Fender/CTS, Switchcraft, Orange Drop, Cloth wire electronics

Assembled it myself.

P-BassSolderen011.jpg

Fernandes "The Revival" Precision Bass. Early 80's Japanese replica of a 1957 P bass. Put the Gold Anodized pickguard and covers on it myself. Also changed the electronics.

Previous builds and owns are to many to name :D

I would love to find one of these,looks better than the Roadworn/Classic 50's bass.

finally got some time to take pictures of my 3 basses,
I warn you crappy cellphone quality ahead ;)
Basses are a '77 Gibson Grabber, '10 Fender Precision with a extra P pickup added at the bridge, wired VVT with a pick-up selector switch and a '09 Ibanez ATK310.
