This one is really special...

It was given to me in stripped down, horrible condition (no fretboard, cracked neck, no truss rods, no hardware, not even a screw or shred of wire) by a local builder who had been holding on to it for about ten years in that shape. He said that he wanted to fix it up, but didn't ever get around to it, so he gifted it to me. It took me two years to finally finish it up, and I LOVE this bass.

I went in a different direction rather than trying to restore it to original Ric specs. I didn't want to do what has already been done many times before in the Ric factory, so I got creative.

Anyways, this thing sounds fantastic, and plays like warm butter.

Would love to know what you guys think!

I think that's one of the most stunning basses I've ever seen. If it were a 4 string I would be trying to get you to sell it to me!

Nice bass, but you probably shouldn't have painted the headstock- I think it's what made those older BC Rich's unique.

Nice basses...do the pole pieces stick out that far on purpose. It looks like it's just the one set of poles.

Thanks! Yup, that's why I stripped the paint off down to the wood on all except the headstock:

So, if I ever want to return to the original headstock I think I can strip the new finish down to the old.
But I don't like the old logo, to me the "R" alone looks better. At first I wanted it in white:

But then when I installed the new hardware...

...I decided to go with Flat Black:
