Is it a mahogany body or is those lines shadows?

I recently assembled a J with an Okoume body and it had somewhat pronounced grain but it wasn't especially striped like some mahogany is. It sounds great though, similar to mahogany.
I did an opaque finish anyway.
Affirmative.
And, in this particular case, it’s light! The SB-1 only weighs 3.61 kg.

Just added a Yamaha BB 734a to the family and love it so far!!!
Me that it is the best , clearest bass they have heard in the theater!!

These are my Basses. The jazz is my frist bass an i’ve played it exclusively untill 2 Years ago when it was ready for Some new frets.
thats when I bought the p bass. I love the sound but I had a hard time getting used to the wider nut.

You'll get used to the wider Precision neck.
Possibly play a little more aggressively and pay more attention to your style. I went from a '66
Jazz to a '78 Maple neck Precision and digging
in, in my playing style. Enjoy.

I also have a hard time with wide nuts so my solution is my p bass below with a standard C shaped neck with a 1 1/2 inch nut :
