New parts bass day!

Just finished assembly and setup of a concept I had in my head. I’ve had the body for awhile with different necks in it but wanted some thing different. I took a gamble on one of those sub $100 Chinese made necks on eBay. Well I got the neck and put it all together. View attachment 5413216

It’s a cheap Rosser poplar body with a rattle can finish, No-name Chinese made Jazz width, reverse Tele neck, Seymour Duncan SCPB-3 pickup, a cheap pre-wired control plate from Amazon, Fender Mexi tuners I had laying around, Warmoth pickguard, and a Guyker bridge. Weighs just over 7lbs and could probably get it down if I swap out the heavy tuners for ultralites.

Just some rattle-can blue metallic from Lowe’s. I just liked the way it looked on the cap. Originally I thought about getting some fancy color change paint, but it was expensive and time consuming and just wanted something I could do in an afternoon. It really isn’t a very good job but looks fine from 10 feet away.

I've change all the stock tuners for Hipshot ones and also put a Custom Shop 60's pickups from Fender.

I'm not going to say the usual phrase "it's like an American" (because it's not ), but it works great for me, also it feels really good to mod as your will.

My current basses. Squier CV Fretless, G&L Tribute LB-100 (with EMG GZR P pickups), and a Yamaha TRBX 605FM.

I can do everything I want to do with these three. There's always more possibilities out there, but I'm very happy with this small collection for now, so hopefully I don't convince myself I need another one for many years to come.

My collection at the moment. I have a Longhorn on order but who knows when that'll arrive? My active J is on semi-permanent loan to a friend who lost all her axes in a fire. I'm considering just gifting it to her since it's the only bass I own that I never play.

It’s a Hipshot Kickass. Great bridge, never had an issue with it.

Thanks. I know exactly how she feels. My house in Little Rock burned down in 1983 and I lost so many things. I was gigging in San Francisco when it happened so I had my Gibson Victory with me, thank goodness. I had so many friends pitch in to help me out then, it's time I think to pay it back.

My current three favourites, a 1993 Spector NS-5CR, 2009 Dolphin Pro I and a 2001 Basslab L-Bow.

I'm a FSO (Fender) guy, but Dayum! Those are nice!!
