I saw the Elias bass posted above, and wanted to share my recently re-acquired Elias bass, which came back to me after 41 years. Mine is Cherry, Brazilian Rosewood and Birdseye maple, and it sports the EMG pickups I put in back in '83. At 8 lbs, it's very comfortable.

The one I learned to play on was my dad's Japanese lawsuit bass. The sound isn't great but damn I still like the feel of it:

I highly recommend picking up one of these. At the time I got it, the only acoustic I've found that sounded better was a Gretsch that was 2.5x the price 10 years earlier:

Been wanting one of these for a while. My first Warwick and while it’s the Chinese manufactured Rockbass line, I’m very impressed with the quality, playability and articulation of the low B. May need to start saving the pennies for the Pro line version.
