I think this one’s active only, unless one of the knobs is a push/pull. I’ll find out for sure when it gets here tomorrow, will report back

All my bass guitars are active, except my fretless. I started with a '76 MusicMan StingRay. I still have it. It spoiled me. But I have upgraded all the others with an active/passive switch, if they didn't already have one. I try to keep the batteries fresh, but I like having the safety net.
Just getting back into gigging after a hiatus since COVID. Didn’t think I would miss it, but I did.

Thanks. That is the Jule Monique pre and Demeter Minnie power amp. Sounds amazing. I am a gear head generally but haven’t used anything else in over a decade.

Many similar-shaped basses/guitars came out of Japan in the '60s -Short-scale '65 Teisco Del Rey EB-2 (bottom) and my 34" scale Teiscobird incorporating a mid-'60s Del Rey solid mahogany body, Epi Got neck, Guild RI Darkstar pu & Hipshot KA bridge.

Very cool. I had a 6-string TDR bass with a whammy bar. Spacing so narrow it could only be played effectively with a pick. Eventually sold it to a collector because I could barely play the thing.

I love that contemporary jazz. How much did those pickups cost? You got me thinking I might want to do the same mod, but with a retro vibe stingray preamp instead

First string change in 11 years. I did boil them a time or two.
Man - boiling strings, well that is old school for sure!
I remember doing that way back then.
Same brand. They were beginning to sound a bit thumpy.
