Corts been under the radar for a long time, had a sweet B4 fretless 20+ years ago... I loved the look/sound, but I just could NOT play fretless.

Was it similar to the Peavey B-Quad? This one had a lined 24 fret-less carbon fiber neck.

Ive just had a breakdown. I usually do not have more than 2 or 3 basses in the house. I start to get antsy thinkin bout the credit card bills and promotional zero interest for 6 months stuff i buy most of my basses with. When they start to pile up, I start thinkin I should be selling 1 or 2 or more of these, pay off the cards. Responsible you know? Well recently I’ve been looking for a fretless 4 with a MM pickup, which is very hard to find. I had ordered a Sire Z7 fretless. This would be to replace a Ibanez Gary Willis 5 I modded last year. Came out beautiful but I really was looking for the Pino sound, a MM pickup 4 string fretless. The Z7 seemed to fit the bill and was pretty reasonably priced. I got a message from my Sweetwater guy in April that the bass was delayed till December. I thought well, ok I’ll just build myself a reasonably priced fretless, maybe something like a Tony Franklin, on the cheap as a temp piece. So I started the project, collected all the pieces, and lo and behold, the sire arrives. Now I got a beautiful sire, and a very nice Tony Franklin project, AND a Willis 5 string fretless. I got too much fretless!!

Then I had some Elixir stainless med/lights and I put em on the Willis and it sings. So now I’m thinkin, screw it, I’ll just keep it all. Pay off the cards over the next 6 months, and enjoy what I’ve put together here. But I’m a little freaked out lookin at the rack. I havent needed a rack for a long time. Oh boy. Gettin nervous. Too many basses.

Just finished this build. Squier affinity Precision with J pickup. Decided to mask an active pseudo tony Franklin but active. DiMarzio Model P & J, Fretless Rosewood, roasted Maple J neck, along with everything else. Hardware, pickguard, covers, hipshot tuners, genuine fender covers. Love how she turned out.

I finally cut the nut for the Sterling shorty. The original was a wee off but not too bad so it took forever to finally use this orange dye impregnated bone. Weird right

They were sold by Andertons here in the UK for a while. They were being sold off for £150 recently to clear the stock. Alder body, Rosewood fretboard and roasted maple neck, stainless steel frets. It sounds great. I think its a Roscoe Beck copy essentially.
