Hello, this is a very interesting thread with so many gorgeous instruments on it, my eyes are bugging out here!

Anyway, as an endorsing artist for Deviser guitars Japan I'd like to show you some of the basses they've sent me to enjoy!

So here goes,
First up the Bacchus Woodline DX5

I love this bass because it is so light weighing only 3.7KG and the fretboard and neck is so smooth to play on, like a Sadowsky or something. For a passive bass it also sounds great and packs plenty of punch thanks to the booster switch.

Ok, I've been out of the game for about 20 years and decided to start playing again. Having to start over from scratch because I sold all of my stuff way back when. Here's what I've gotten over the past month.

Thanks JIO! This was a lifelong friend of mine’s bass, he knew Mark King from Level 42 and John Diggins, the owner of Jaydee. John built this gorgeous multi-upgraded Supernatural bass to Mark’s specs and my friend flew to England for a Level 42 reunion concert and picked up the bass at Jaydee. My friend sadly passed away far before his time from Cancer and I was very blessed and fortunate to acquire his bass collection to add to my studio and bass array. I feel like I am carrying on his musical legacy when I play, perform and record with his basses. He was one of the nicest people I have ever known, an excellent player, songwriter and his son is a fantastic drummer.

A wonderful story about a wonderful person who played & handed down a very special bass! As I'm getting up there myself, I think about where my very special basses will end up. As awesome as they are, compared to the loss of a friend- they are only wood & wire. But.., they will outlive us all and I hope they will be played!

1984-1986 Precision - This was made in Japan, the serial # begins with an E. I got it as a gift, new, around 1986.
Anyone have any input on the Japanese P-Basses? Not alot of info out there, but this bass plays beautifully.

My beloved 1983 Tokai Jazz with roundwounds
Heavily modified Pitbull Kit with flats
Ibanez with bronze roundwound
1963 Burns Sonic (1st bass) with tapewound.
And a little short scale thinggumajig with a midi pickup for when real bass guitar won't do.

That Tokai dark red jazz bass is a beauty !

No, I've had it since about 1972. Its a long way from original - in those days it was a cheap bass for kids who couldn't afford anything better and was treated how teenagers treat such! Its been stripped to bare wood and varnished, and had various pickups. The originals died IIRC. I gave it far eastern Trisonic clones and a new scratchplate a year or so ago to bring it a bit closer to original, but I draw the line at covering up some very pretty mahogany.
