I had the matching twin to the Ray in a Bongo HS4.
That was too cool having a Bongo HS4 and a Ray HS4 in the limited edition 2008 sequoia gold.
Then?
Along came more US Lakland G.A.S.....
And so I let go of the twin Bongo

The US Scheff is my favorite of all 6 basses!
The Armstrong lipstick pups are just amazing!
This Scheff is the 3rd US Scheff built back in 2001.
It was commissioned by Jerry Scheff's son.

I really love the 44-07 with the active Chibuckers.
They only made a small handful of them.

Amazing... I had the Bongo 6 of the year they did that color scheme... still my favorite Musicman LTD to date... I'd love to have a single H Ray w/ a rosewood board and matching headstock... Also always wanted to try one of those Jerry Scheff (probably spelled it wrong)... Heck, it looks like you have just about every pickup offering from Lakland/Hanson... very nice collection

I may or may not have a super secret fretless project in the works involving the new Hanson Chisonic humbuckers... these ones are passive, though...

I had two US Laklands with Passive Chisonics...
One had passive single coil chisonics the other had passive chibuckers.

Sadly sold them off..like a moron.

All I have is active now.

. Well, neither are stock. I have DiMarzio Will Power PUs in both Furys. Great PUs. And both SB-2's have the tone mod. The Will Power PU's IMO are very strong in the low mids and mids, and can be very aggressive sounding while still not too bright. The G&L pickups are aggressive across the entire range but can be controlled however you like with the tone mod on the SB-2, and the stock tone knob on the SB-1. They aren't that far apart overall. Of all of them, the SB-1 has the sweetest thickest low end and low mids.

So, here are the basses I have with me here at school. They are, from top to bottom:

New bass day. Classic Stingray 5. Coral red. Tortoise shell pickguard. Birdseye maple fretboard.

Also NBD here... Classic 50s Lacquer Precision.
Pretty nice. 8lbs 4oz (balanced on my baker's scale)
Set up pretty good out of the box. I ordered it less than two weeks ago and I unboxed it in the store today.
Tight neck pocket. Resonant body. Pickup sounds nice but not as high output as my 57RI it seems. Neck is a little chunkier than the RI too.
Almost flawless fit and finish. 2 tiny imperfections in the lacquer, but I can over look them as it very nice otherwise and I'll have put scratches in it in no time I'm sure.
I've put strap locks on it and soon I am going to get a black pg for it too. Then she's good to go.

Hi all!

I'm new around here. I actually started playing bass 6 years ago but army service, a demanding job and my own laziness kept me from practicing regularly. Lately I started practicing again and after picking up my old bass and hating the sound decided on buying a new one.
So these are my basses:

On the left is my old Cort Action-A.
On the right is my new, second hand, Korean made, 2007 Ibanez SR500.
