That bites. I was hoping these Hipshots would work as I've wanted to replace the Squier's for the tuning ratio alone. Too many jumps when I'm zeroing in on the tuner. I have a set of Wilkinson's sitting here that are 1:20 ratio but I just haven't had the time to try them out. I wanted the Hipshot's to work so maybe I'll just proceed with them and see. Thanks for letting me know though.

After years playing various Fenders, the odd Gibson, Washburn and Ibanez, I have now become a Spector only player having added a Rebop deluxe to the fretless Spectorcore I bought last year. Love the sound and the lighter weight.

Unfortunately, these were just close enough to the original holes that I would have been making one big hole for the screws had I drilled...I little too big for me to trust the integrity of just wood filler (though it did cross my mind). Perhaps some saying they're "drop in" are just screwing them in all willy nilly or taking the extra step to fill. This bass is near perfect so far and I didn't want to screw around (har har) rendering new holes for anything other than aesthetic hardware. I'll post pics when all the other stuff is complete. I have a new control plate coming that will hopefully help accommodate a 75RI guard that I wanted to use to add a chrome pickup cover over the neck pup.
