Finally have something worth posting. My wife is an artist, and I like building things. So a couple of cheap Chinese kits and we have the 'screaming chicken' guitar and bass. She's still trying to figure out the right materials for painting, the guitar was done with casein paint.. the bass is acrylic which built up a bit making it difficult to do a glassy clearcoat.. so I just used poly to protect it. Been playing it, plays pretty well... the volume pots are junk.. tuning machines horrible... but it plays okay. I might be looking at warmoth soon as we have a cool idea ;-)

My newest custom parts build...
It all started when I received a free B&B Sire neck when I bought a V7. Don't know why... but it was there. The blocks were slightly edge-peeling at the first few frets. Some glue through a syringe fixed that! Had to take a dremel and remove about .5mm of clear from the neck heel for it to fit and you can't even tell.

Specs are:
Sire B&B neck
Warmoth Dinky Jazz body, ash
Sadowsky preamp 9v
DiMarzio Area J's
Hipshot hardware

Tone to die for! Not selling this one!
All the Parts were well thought out and took a while to accumulate. Probably one of the best sounding/playing jazz basses I've pieced together!

I did. It’s actually a cat fret inlay sticker. Kind of a pain to put on but it looks cool.
