The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

I've asked this question before and have not gotten an answer, so I'll totally understand if you don't answer it either. Do you worry about the neck being damaged by hanging by the machine head? I would think that the weight of the bass could effect the neck in a bad way.

Each string of a bass is under anywhere from 65lbs-85lbs of tension when tuned to pitch so hanging it or placing it in a stand exerts no more or less tension on the bass than already exists from the strings.

I’ve had many basses over the years hanging like that for up to ten years at a time without noticing any changes.
Never had to make adjustments in regards to the neck holding up the body like that either. Every bass I’ve owned hasn’t been that heavy, not sure if that would make a difference.
No marks or rubbing either on the wood.
Hope that helps.

Absolutely!
You have helped me a great deal.
Obviously you have the experience I have been looking for regarding this issue.
I feel good about hanging my basses up now.
Thanks again friend!

Thanks..that is really attractive bass.
I am in love !!!
Same here. It was an instant buying decision. I like to recommend this bass and Jericho as a brand in general, because the quality and sound is outstanding for that price. Jericho does not sell via dealers . You buy directly from them and do not waste money on ditributors and local shops. I bet in that case the price would be easily doubled.

I like seeing my fellow bass player's basses and rig set up. I hope you don't mind me sharing my gear. My main bass is a custom built 5 string bass designed loosely on a Fodera but with way more bells and whistles (one of which is a built in pre-amp in the body). I also like to play my Fender American Pro Series 5 String Jazz bass. Both basses have their own unique sound and I totally love them.

My big stage rig is a Eden WT800 with 210 and 410 stacked cabinets. For smaller gigs I like to use my Markbass CMD 102P tiltback.

Nice bass. I really like that spalted look. I used to play that same Eden rig and it was the best I ever sounded. Looking for something smiliar to leave at my main church gig.

Just finished assembling this P-bass from secondhand and salvaged parts. Can't wait to plug it in...

Plugged it in for the first time. Wow! I've never had a "regular" Precision bass before, and I now finally understand why the tone is so popular. Killer midrange on these GZRs, and the tone knob is actually useful. Gonna take some time to get used to the wider neck (I prefer pencil-necked GL Jazz or Soundgear). Love the bridge cover; perfect palmrest for pick playing. I don't think I can go back to glossy pickguards after seeing how good this one looks.

Very pleased. This may be the best (and most traditional) Frankenbass I've ever put together.
