The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

NBD! I bought a SX short scale fretless from a member of this forum a few months back. I took it apart and put copper tape in the routings. I was going to do all the mods myself for a learning experience, but I had an accident, resulting in a closed head injury and subdural hemorrhage. That just knocked all the enthusiasm for this project out. I took it to a small shop I've been doing business with and the owner did the job for me, with the parts I bought. I was hoping the shot to the head would have given me SUPER BASS POWERS! :woot: But, it didn't. :(

He replaced the wiring harness with an Emerson pre made harness, the pickups with Seymour Duncans and the bridge with a Babicz bridge I had in the parts box. The strings are LaBella Tapewound Flats. He did a great job with the bridge, as it wasn't really a direct replacement. The original knobs didn't fit the new harness, so he rummaged around and found the black ones that are on it now. The neck feels a bit thinner. It sounds great!

Something in me said, "You need a Jazz" I found this on CL for $200. The owner is a real musician, not a Noobie McNoobus like me. It was set up nicely, ops checked good and sounds great. The other P basses accepted it into the family right away.

That is a nice J for $200! The control plate looks pristine, I actually thought it had stacked pots at first b/c of the reflection!
