Yeah that's all I could figure. Unless he's referring to number of strings.
I think they are all passive, though the one on the right has black knobs over a black pickguard so I'm not 100% sure...
New family pic with my recent addition:
Left to right: Precision Deluxe Special Edition, Nate Mendel Precision, MiM Geddy Lee Jazz, American Performer Jazz.
That one does indeed have EMG's in it. No active preamp though.
The "P" pickup is the theme...
Awwwww I spent all night trying to come up with more obscure "common" themes:
They are all made of some combination of wood, metal, plastic, and magnets
All the pickups are black
They are all grouped together in a single room, of a particular domicile, located on some planet (Earth? I make no assumptions!)
...can I sleep now?
By all means do. I slept very well last night.....
I know plenty of people make "what bass is this" threads, but I feel like this should be a pretty quick spot for you guys. I've been digging this Jaguar-ish bass that I've seen the bass player/singer for The Dangerous Summer using on his last few tours. Just curious what it is.
Beautiful. Had one of those back inna day. Was worried the peghead>bridge angle
would cause winding damage but always seemed to stay in tune and being as
Steinberger's were en vogue at the time, it was a fun distraction. Wish I still had it.
Dream Studios - AJ Perdomo - The Dangerous Summer
That one looks a bit different from the one on the website, it has 2 MM pups...
A completed pair of P's I am very happy with. The Yin and Yang of the emblyRealm, I give you GoodBass and BadBass..........
What pickguard is that?? Beautiful!!
One of a kind from a guy in Texas, eBay handle tubb777. Hand tooled leather and it fit perfectly, even the screw holes!

Damn! nice collection! I see 20K there at LEAST lol
My first baby, my Yamaha RBX170Y, built up my calluses on this beautiful bass, a friend of mine likes it, may get around $300 for it.
NBD! I bought a SX short scale fretless from a member of this forum a few months back. I took it apart and put copper tape in the routings. I was going to do all the mods myself for a learning experience, but I had an accident, resulting in a closed head injury and subdural hemorrhage. That just knocked all the enthusiasm for this project out. I took it to a small shop I've been doing business with and the owner did the job for me, with the parts I bought. I was hoping the shot to the head would have given me SUPER BASS POWERS! But, it didn't.
He replaced the wiring harness with an Emerson pre made harness, the pickups with Seymour Duncans and the bridge with a Babicz bridge I had in the parts box. The strings are LaBella Tapewound Flats. He did a great job with the bridge, as it wasn't really a direct replacement. The original knobs didn't fit the new harness, so he rummaged around and found the black ones that are on it now. The neck feels a bit thinner. It sounds great!
