The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Here’s my G&L 2016 LB-100! I installed a new tortoise shell pickguard and a new set of D’Addario EXL170 strings this morning. The new pickguard replaces an original 3 ply black one.

Those strings look great on the body color . I'm not usually a fan but that there looks great .
Thanks, I had them on an old peavey. They were on sale at GC for like 20 bucks one day so I figured why not see what they're about. I'm ordering a 6 string set today. Maybe I'll get a different color for the B and C, keep the rest for spares.

EdBo - is that a graphite body, tell us about it.

No, it's just another one of my inexpensive Basses I've modded.
It's a Carlo Robelli that, from my understanding, was a Sam Ash exclusive I picked up locally from FB MarketPlace for $75. I made the original MM pickup disappear but, added almost a pound of lead in the rout for balance , routed for the Vintage SD Active EQ J near the sweet spot, replaced Solorails with a vintage/Fender style bridge, new tuners and covered the body/headstock front face with Black Carbon Fiber Vinyl Wrap.
It has a very good 34" scale neck with hard frets that plays great. It's a bit wide at the nut @ 1.725.
I'm actually amazed at how good it sounds and plays.
The little red button is a kill switch to fill a hole.
