Here's my latest vid! Triple comparison/review of my Sire V3, Squier Contemporary HH Active, and Bacchus Global WL-434 ACT. This one is a bit long, but we're covering a lot! After I saw Lobsters review of the Les Paul DC Tribute bass - I decided to post this.
Since the bass came with that bad gig bag - I found that a Gator Les Paul guitar case would fit. Got mine at GC - remember the Gibson case will not fit but the gator will fit.
I think it is a nice old school bass and I wanted a case.......... Love the review also.

I'm addicted to the nordy tone... i played a 2405 with the aguilars and it was more full and warm but I still think I prefer the voice if the nord singles. I am very interested to hear it through the EHB, the 2405 body is actually pretty heavy compared to other SRs I've played. Curious to hear the difference in the aggies between it and the lighter chambered EHBs.
I played, in store, a really nice btb ibby loaded with Nords and the best ibby neck I’ve played. Wenge/wenge.
what a great machine but the stupid redesign of the body with the awkwardly contoured top that I found digs into the forearm made it quite undesirable.
That and I had a beautiful 1806e ( I think) rosewood top. Anyways it was Nordy loaded as well. Great bass.
they work in my 1506ms. I will say the super light weight aspect of the bass may work against it in tone, sustain and clarity but is super light for being lazy or traveling with something compact.
It does still sound great but I do think muting is a necessary skill with it.

I enjoy your reviews but I would like some (brief) detail shots of the back of the headstocks showing the tuners, especially if you speak of them as good or bad. Same with the back of the body when speaking of battery compartments/control covers/string-thru ferrules, even the type of neck plate attachment. (and also showing rear body contours right?) You mostly show the front of your basses - a rear shot can be informative also.

It does, but quite honestly it was finished in nitro and relic'd by MJT to look that way. The original red thick poly finish had my 'players wear', but I expressly wanted this look and was very pleased with their interpretation.

I mostly love to play hard rock, metal stuff. For jazz stuff it's usually synthy techno effects so I'll probably be ok trading off the full sound for the light weight. I can always beef it up through my amp. I almost picked that 6 string EHB for my next bass. I decided to see where I get with my little GIO 6 string project that has now cost me more in upgrade parts than the bass cost me... oops

honestly, I really wanted to have a headless bass. Mainly for tight quarters, but I’ve realize there are other pros to it as well. I just guess it was something different to get and I’ve been a bit fascinated with them. I decided I didn’t want to wait until the possibility that Dingwall will do headless and timing brought the Ibanez to the forefront.
When a Dingwall headless is available this will most likely go to help fund it.

I have NJ4's in the A/S J I posted (#12102) and really like them (powered by a '93 Fender Jazz Plus/Kubicki 9v pre) - never tried Aguilars but I've heard many serious players sing their praises.
All about the style of music me thinks.
Nordstrand can jump genres pretty flexibly but I think aggies lean towards the softer side of the spectrum. Sound awesome where they fit though, that’s for sure.
My main basses. Also have a couple of short scalers and an Ibanez acoustic.

Softer side? The players I know who use them would not be considered producers of 'soft' bass. Nuanced? Colorful? Rich? ... soft?... ah, no...
