Finally decided to pull them all out for a family photo. Typically I keep most cases and only 2 or 3 out on a stand at a time.

Front row L-R: Warmoth Dinky Jazz, Spector NA-2A, Spector Euro 4 LX, EBMM Big Al 4 SSS, Warmoth Dinky P.
Back Row L-R: Squire PJ with Jazz neck, Sterling SUB body with G&L neck and Modulus Flea guts, Ibanez SR 505, Ibanez SR 500.

Totally agree. Hard to imagine just how radical the P-bass (and other Fender designs) must have seemed at the time. Totally unlike anything else and certainly 'space age' for the time.

Looks like a resin PG and bridge cover

I've been playing with epoxy recently and I could totally do something wispy like that pattern.

I can get a related plastic product at plastics supply store here in SF. It's translucent, thin and pearly-swirly. Something very similar was used on this '68 Coral Deluxe Bass, a Danelectro product. it has a silver-white coating on the back-side to enhance the effect and make it opaque. The thin pearl-swirl layer is under a clear acrylic pg with the black outline printed/screened on the bottom-side. Such a cool detail.

Yah, the Coral is awesome in all ways! I knew that the pearl-swirl material was (similar/same?) as used for drum skins. Tap Plastic has translucent white/blue/and green at their store in SF but they might be able to get red. I've used the white and blue for a pg with a thin sheet of mylar under it and clear acrylic on top. (which they also sell) They also have a cool white pearl-swirl acrylic sheet which is good for making pg's.

I just checked the site Maton Guitars Australia and it is no longer there (?!) -- Could be worth contacting them directly - they were very helpful IME. Those cost 19 AUD plus postage previously. They differ very slightly from the 1960s originals in that the arms are a bit shorter.

Same! That's the ONLY replaced part on my Ibis. Really glad to have gotten it! (the set screw on mine stripped out right away but I'm not complaining!)

So who was having a blowout sale on those pickups?

Would love to know more about the first one. Especially since I'm currently formulating a plan for excessive pickup-ness myself...
