Thanks. All three are amazing basses: the Fender Precision is a Firemist Gold '65 (has to be a #1 and this is my favorite); the J is a '61-style stack-knob made for me by Ben Lindsey to my specs--Ash body, dark Rosewood board, birdseye Maple neck, vintage wiring, custom-wound Lollar pups; the EBMM Stingray is one of the first batch of 4 amazing looking and playing Classic Deluxe Stingrays made for NAMM to launch that line some years back--AFAIK it is the only Trans-White Classic ever made (color never went into production for these).

That's Firemist Gold? Interesting - it looks more like Shoreline Gold. Also, does it have gold hardware or is it just the colour balance in the pic? Super nice either way. I have a sunburst '66 and it sounds/plays great.

A pleasure to see so many beautiful instruments. This does nothing to help ongoing, recurring GAS! Basically, I tend towards Leo's creations, being somewhat of an old timer. Truly appreciate the beauty, simplicity, playability, sound and "feel" of these. That said, I am inspired to try out other kinds of basses as I learn more.
Currently, I have 9 basses, including:
1966 Fender Jazz Bass (purchased this in 1976 with a truly butchered furniture polish finish. Since beautifully refinished and restored with all original parts (except a brass nut and no pickguard). A very sweet sounding, seasoned bass.
1979 Music Man Sabre Bass (Sunburst finish, maple neck). A truly lovely instrument.
1980 Fender USA Bullet bass (my brother found this at a garage sale in Los Angeles years ago)
1981 G&L L2000 Series E (root beer finish, chrome hardware, rosewood neck) Both L2000s play beautifully and literally shake up the house when turned up!
1982 G&L L2000 Series E (white finish, flat black hardware, rosewood neck)
1984 Aria Pro II TSB 550 (MIJ)
1987 Brooks Request Jazz/P Fretless Bass (made by Larry Brooks, who went on to work for Fender. Ebony Fretboard, Bartolini pickups)
1995-1996 Fender USA 5-String Jazz Bass
2006 Fender Marcus Miller Jazz Bass (4-string) (CIJ)

My 3... for the moment (fingers crossed), I am GAS free...
Two and a half years ago I traded a 4 string USA Fender Precision Deluxe 60th anniversary bass with maple fretboard for the same bass in 5 string with a rosewood fretboard. I love the fiver and I still have it but it just wasn't the same. Every bass I've picked up since then I have found myself comparing to the one I let go and none of them measured up. It was the only bass I've ever regretted letting go.
This week I walked into the local pawn shop and almost fell over when I saw her hanging on the wall. Still in mint condition too. Needless to say, she is no longer hanging on the pawn shop wall. My baby is back with me and I couldn't be happier.

Well here's a couple of acquisitions. The smaller one last night (not a bass, but a 4 stringer), and the "2 stringer" about an hour ago or so. Damn craigslist!
