The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

At this point in time, this G&L JB-5 is my favorite over my MM SR-5 which I've played for over 20 years. It is lighter with a more comfortable neck and the tone is pure Jazz bass with a killer B string. It responds to FX extremely well giving me the most tone options I have ever had.

What is the string spacing at the bridge on the G&L JB-5?

It was NBD for me on Saturday - added another P bass to the family. Got the bottom P bass that is the limited run. They are like 749 at GC but MF has a deal for 599. So I went to GC and asked for a price match.

Good deal.

I love that color. It works with pretty much anything. You got a great deal, have fun with that!

Current family lineup

1. Ibanez Roadstar II RB630 with TIJFs. This is my main bass and it gets 95% of my playtime.
2. Schecter Raiden Special-4 with D’Addario ProSteels. I keep it around for contrast and sentimentality.
3. Ibanez AEB5E with GHS Precision Flats. I don’t play it a lot but the huge neck feels great and it’s fun to jam around with. I need to get a new set of D’Addario Tapes for it; my last set spent 7 years on this bass and they are the perfect string for it.

The purple Modulus is my main bass, the other Mod is it's backup. The Status Empathy and the Stingray are auditioning for being keepers. The Status is a slap monster, it's incredible how easy it is to slap on, but it's finger-style tones give me pause. The Stingray I'm starting to get used to. Anyway, this is my current lineup.

For years and years, I had two GAS items: Spector Euro and Status S2
The Spector I bought last month. Seeing your collection makes me wanna have a Status so badly. GAS is a sweet pain, which never heals.

Is that the ocean turquoise one? The color in your picture looks great! Dark tort pg?

Yes that is the one - and the pick guard is a little darker than normal. The 2021 version (this one) has a Fender 75 year decal also a "F" neck plate (which I do not remember from last years model). Also the strings line up better on the pickup that I have seen on earlier models.

So this one just seem nicer?

How about a picture of the back side?

You may notice the machine screw in place of the bridge hex binding screw. When I received the bass in a trade, the hex screw was missing. I have looked at every source I know of for the proper replacement with no luck. Anybody know where I can get a proper replacement hex screw?
