I have a 2013 50's P "blonde" but more like nasty blonde sent to Marty Bell , while we wait ..parts check !
2013 Roadworn neck with Resolites
Kts Bridge & Ti neck plate
Duncan 60's Pride mmmmm
stuff ,buttons , tug bar , Aluminum knobs
some orange drops in there & sealed Dunlop 250k pots
I think that's it . Body is 2 or 3 weeks out.
Pretty sure it's going to be a pretty outrageous Blue / silver burst
So these pick guards ...
Gold Aluminum
Silver Aluminum
Single ply Cream
Aged 3 ply black

Single cutaway basses have fallen out of fashion, but they sound different and they perform differently, and many of us will not bow to the trend. They tend to have a curiously even response, with consistent piano-tone all over the board. If, like me, you don't care about what others think of your appearance, you should pick one up one day, and you might get the same reaction I do!
This is an R Bass, single cutaway 5 string electric bass. Five piece maple/imbuia neck through, with alder body wings and imbuia top and back. Bartolini electronics and Hipshot hardware. How many pieces of wood can you fit into a bass that weighs 9 pounds 0.3 ounces?!?!
Imbuia is commonly called Brazilian walnut in the U.S., although The Wood Database points out it has little resemblance to true walnut. It grows in southern Brazil, and is not endangered per CITES, although it is on a Red List, apparently meaning it is on its way to being listed.
Huge bottom end, with murderous low mids. I typically cut bass either at the pre or at the amp. This bass works, for sure!

Thanks - I am using the Maruszczyk Medium Scale Nickel Rounds.
Once complete I'm considering getting my Step Dad to fly his drone over a field with the guitar rainbow lined up. I'd love to use that for my album cover!

Ok, so here's a recent 'commissioned' project that I wrapped up today - the work on it here on tb was grafted onto my 'new build' thread over in the Luthiers Corner, (which is going to be super-cool y'all'- subscribe now) but you can see all details related to this wavy maple-faced bass starting with post #39 there. Enjoy wandering the thread from post #1 in the mean-time

I try and balance them out...some tastefully classic and some sparkle encrusted Vegas pole dancer. It's all about balance
