Next to an SG for comparison. I found a slightly roomy electric guitar case for it and it fits!

I left the truss rod cover off to match Phil's bass for now although it might look nicer if I added it.

Not sure if it's ok to start my own thread in the general forum or not... it was a pretty big project, I have around 10 custom or customized basses but this one is pretty special.

DAMM! You look just like a proud Papa! What a beautiful job! This series of photos is well deserving of its own thread! I'll be looking for it. Congratulations!

That thing is sexy! How do you like the full horn or whatever you would call that area? I've been keeping an eye on these

I dont know about ppl who put thumb on the side of neck when they play, but for me it doesnt bother high fret playing at all. Moreover i found that when i play tapping style, my right hand palm and thumb can rest on the upper horn part, which was interesting. So far i love it.

Plays smooth (like other ibanez prestige basses)
Clear, glassy tone from bartolini pups (not too much middle like jazz bass or kensmith. It has more like mtd type tone)
+1 goreous looking

Here is my newest Franken Family Portrait...along with my Franken Pre-Amp...
Left to right...

2007 Precision neck on a 2006 Jazz body. All MIM. It should be named the Beast. Strung up with Fender 9050 .050 - .100 flats. Weighs over nine lbs...tone machine deluxe, especially with the pre-amp.

1996 MIM Precision neck I de-fretted on a 1994 MIM Squire Series Jazz body. My favorite bass. Strung up with GHS M3045 roundwound Boomers. A thrill to play. Roundwounds on a fretless neck is the bomb.

2012 Blacktop Precision neck I de-fretted on a MIM 2007 Precision body. Strung up with Fender 9050 .050 - .100 flats. Hey it's a fretless P.

And last but not least, the made in Taiwan Yamaha SBV. Strung up with the light set of GHS Precision Flats. All the parts on this one are original.
