Which models are those two natural jazz basses?
All Fenders. From left to right, ‘87 MIJ Jazz Bass Active, ‘87-‘88 MIJ Jazz Bass 5-String Active, ‘88 MIJ Power Jazz Special (my go-to bass), 2012 USA Deluxe w/ Fralin pups & a Sadowski Pre-Amp, & 2018 USA American Professional with an Alperious pickguard and matching control plate.
Ohhhhhhh Fano! Boiiiiiingg!!!!! I have a friend with a Fano Jazzmaster and it's so nice. And since Jazzmasters are the sexiest guitars known to man, that good sir is just majestic. My MIJ Jaguar Deluxe is touching itself inappropriately right now. Dang it that's cool.
This showed up yesterday. Squier 40th anniversary Jazz in Ruby Red. It was wicked cold here so I let her sit overnight. Unboxed this morning and am soooo happy 
This is a 2000 Ken Lawrence Brase I. (Not sure about the I, so I could use some help over here!)
It is a five-string electrical bass with a 35" scale, a three piece maple neck set far into the body, a body made of several pieces of alder, ash and walnut, Nordstrand NJ5S pickups, and a Seymour Duncan three band preamp. The top is walnut burl and the fingerboard is ebony. About 9 pounds 2 ounces, or 4.2 kilos.
If you ever get a chance to play one of these, you will understand the line about how single cutaway basses are different. This bass has a remarkably even response all over the board. With some careful balancing the bridge pickup is fully balanced and much more usable than many bridge pickups. They don't show up on the used market too often, probably mostly due to owner loyalty, and he seems to be making more guitars these days, but he really hit the mark on these things. The fancy ones with elaborate inlays and chambered bodies get expensive.

I got to play one of them at a local GC in San Diego county. They actually feel real nice and the quality ain't too bad for the price tag. I think every skeptic/nay sayer should at least try them out.

Looking to get a Roasted Maple Jazz Neck soon on my Daphne Blue bass after deciding to hold onto it.
The 1966 movie of 451 with Oskar Werner and Julie Christie and directed by Francois Truffaut stayed truer to Bradbury's story, and was far better than that shabby 2018 remake IMO...
I haven't seen either of them so I'll have to take your word for it.

so this J bass ... I'm getting the hang of it . Sure it doesn't have that meaty midrange of the P and it's noisier no question but it's ballsy and has some really great tones available . Hmm.. it took me forever but I'm getting there .
