I usually keep a bass out during the day, just to pick up and play for a few minutes (or more) when the impulse strikes.

Today I walked through the room, and this perspective caught my eye. I thought it made a nice image.

Can you give more info on this bass? She’s gorgeous!!!

Howdy guys!

I'm new around here so I thought I'd show my two current basses.

The first is a Carvin LB-70 that I had built by the Carvin custom shop almost 25 years ago. It's got a lot of miles on it and the varnish is starting to look a little foggy, but it has been a true workhorse. Great tonal range, so it is my go-to for most gigs. I usually like to let a bass keep the scars it has earned, but the koa wood is so beautiful that I am considering having it refinished.

This one will NEVER get refinished! 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 that I've had since 1985 or so. Used to be white! It has spent many a year on the road and is a bit on the rough side, but like I said, the scars tell a story.

Thanks! It’s a homemade prototype/first run multiscale headless. My most difficult build so far; nearly ended up in the burn pile more than once. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/my-first-multiscale-experimental.1396479/

In person, it’s a bit of a train wreck, but it plays well enough for me to keep around. Honestly, the photo shows the very best angle….

Same, but I've been digging black headstocks with maple fingerboards lately. I put this neck on my other jazz bass and thought "perfection" but had to put it back on this bass when I found a buyer. Of course the stock preamp immediately died and now here we are.

I got the new CV body prepped and attached to the Warmoth fretted neck…

But I guess it’s a piece of crap because only 3 TB users like it…

Now I can see them. You have definitely put some playing time in on those basses. Really nice set. The Carvin looks like a beast and the Ric is a classic.
