The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

That is AWESOME!

:) Thanks! I originally cut a window of smoked acrylic because I thought I would ruin the thin trans-black window in the tuner, but I just carefully removed it and added it (with double-sided tape, like it was on the tuner housing) to diffuse the very bright LED's. Much better. A bit of bleed on the edges, but good enough.

Oh wow! Well executed! Does it cut the output when the tuner is on?

Yes it does - I basically used the in-out jacks to interrupt the circuit from electronic harness to jack. Also added a 9V battery wired from the wall-wart input. I'm not certain if the battery will drain faster being plugged in while playing/plugged-in though. Will just have to remember to un-plug when not playing, similar to an active bass.

Wow, nice work! I wonder how convenient is the placement of the tuner. Can you easily see if in tune or need a mirror or something?;-)

:) Thanks! Yes, because of the window/unit being more vertical - I had to mount it "side-ways". But really, (no mirror needed!) it's easy to see and very graphic until it centers - (easy to 'read' your bass being in tune).

Bottom-line, what I did was a cheap relatively easy mod, but I could see a guitar/bass maker design one specifically for a production model/brand/bass/guitar.

Recently grabbed another grail in the form of a Ribbecke Hafling, which prompted me to take a new family portrait. Think I've got all my bases (basses?) covered, now!View attachment 4945512
I guess it will be a testimony to my ignorance, but what bass is second from the left with ivory body? Looks stunning and the pups must be mighty!

Wow, that is quite a collection! Most music stores have less on offer!
You must be a single though!
I would definitely be if I bought this many basses and gear!
Nope. Married for over 20 years. She is my chief enabler. :)

And that doesnt include the guitars and guitar amps
